You can assign a posting type to a main account, and then post withholding tax entries to that account so that they are updated in journal transactions.

  1. Click General ledger > Common > Main accounts.

  2. Select a main account, and on the Action Pane click Edit.

  3. On the Main accounts - chart of accounts: %1 form, select the Setup FastTab.

  4. In the Posting type field, select the type of posting for withholding tax transactions:

    • Withholding tax – Post entries for withheld taxes.

    • Withholding tax offset – Record tax slips for withheld taxes.

  5. Close the forms to save your changes.
