Microsoft Outlook or Exchange Server synchronization parameters (form)

Use this form to set the default parameters for synchronizing contact information between Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Outlook, or between Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Exchange Server.

Support for integration with Microsoft Exchange Server is available only in AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 8 and later.

Edit rights

This control is available only in versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 prior to AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 8.

Select whether contact information can be edited only by the employee who is responsible for the contacts that are selected for synchronization, or by any employee in your organization.

Synchronization rights

This control is available only if AX 2012 R3 CU8 or later is installed.

Select whether contact information can be edited only by the employee who is responsible for the contacts that are selected for synchronization, or by any employee in your organization.

Allowed synchronization type for contacts

Select the enabled level of synchronization.

Default synchronization type

Select the default level of editing rights for employees. If you selected View only in the Allowed synchronization type for contacts field, this field is automatically set to view-only. If you selected Edit in the Allowed synchronization type for contacts field, you can set the default synchronization type to enable editing.

Microsoft Outlook contacts delete action

This control is available only in versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 prior to AX 2012 R3 Cumulative Update 8.

Select whether an employee who has permission to change a contact can delete the contact record or delete the information in the synchronization fields.

Contacts delete action

This control is available only if AX 2012 R3 CU8 or later is installed.

Select whether an employee who has permission to change a contact can delete the contact record or delete the information in the synchronization fields.

Program to synchronize

This control is available only if AX 2012 R3 CU8 or later is installed.

Select whether you want to synchronize contacts with Outlook or with Exchange Server.

Exchange Server URL

This control is available only if AX 2012 R3 CU8 or later is installed.

If you selected Exchange server in the Program to synchronize field, enter the URL of the Exchange Server computer that you want to synchronize with.
