Project statements (form)

Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > All projects. On the Action Pane, on the Control tab, in the Monitor group, click Project statements.

Click Project management and accounting > Common > Projects > Project contracts. On the Action Pane, on the Control tab, in the Monitor group, click Project statements.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 or cumulative update 7 or later for AX 2012 R2: Click Project management and accounting > Common > Project resources > Resources. On the Action Pane, on the Project resource tab, in the Project control group, click Project statements.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 or cumulative update 7 or later for AX 2012 R2: Click Project management and accounting > Common > Project resources > Resource availability. On the Action Pane, on the Project resource tab, in the Project control group, click Project statements.

Click Human resources > Common > Workers > Workers. On the Action Pane, on the Project management, click Project statements.

Use this form to view statements for a defined combination of project types and transaction types. Click the Calculate button to perform calculations and update the contents of the fields. The statement values displayed in this form are based on relevant project transactions and provide an overview of the progress on a project.

The following tables provide descriptions for the controls in this form.

Select transaction and project types, and specify if calculations should be based on actual or budgeted numbers.

Profit and loss

View statements about values that are posted to profit and loss accounts.

WIP

View statements about values that are posted to balance sheet accounts.

Consumption

View statements about consumption of hours, items, expense, and payroll transactions.

Invoice

View statements about invoices and on-account invoicing.

Hour rate

View hour rates for hours that are posted to revenue and cost accounts.

Calculate

Display values in the statements fields in the form. When this button is clicked, the Transactions and Forecast buttons become available.

Transactions

Select the transaction type for which you want to view posted transactions.

Forecast

Select the forecast type for which you want to view forecasted transactions.

Export to Microsoft Excel

Export the calculated data to a Microsoft Excel PivotTable chart.

Description

Include project types

Select the check box for the project types to be displayed in the statements fields. You can select more than one project type.

Note

If you access the Project statements form through the Projects form, the project type of the active project is selected automatically.

Include transaction types

Select the transaction types to be displayed in the statement fields. You can select more than one project transaction type.

Project date

The time frame in which transactions were posted to a project.

  • From date – Enter a date if you want to limit the calculation to project transactions that were posted after that date.

  • To date – Enter a date if you want to limit the calculation to project transactions that were posted before that date.

Ledger date

The time frame in which transactions were posted to the general ledger.

  • From date – Enter a date if you want to limit the calculation to general ledger postings that were made after that date.

  • To date – Enter a date if you want to limit the calculation to general ledger postings that were made before that date.

Actual vs. budget

Select the type of statements that you want to display in the statement fields in the form. The value selected in this field determines which other fields appear in the Project statement form when you click the Calculate button.

Only budget entries that are part of the actual budget are included in the calculation. Additional budgeted entries are not included.

  • Actual – Actual transaction amounts and values are displayed in the statements fields.

  • Budget – Budgeted transaction amounts and values are displayed.

  • Deviation – Actual and budgeted amounts and the difference between the actual and the budgeted amounts are displayed in their respective columns.

  • Sum – The total of actual and budgeted values.

Include subprojects

For projects that have one or more subprojects, select the check box to include data from those subprojects in the calculation.

PL structure

  • Revenue – The sum of invoiced revenue and accrued revenue posted to the revenue-and-loss accounts.

  • Cost - expense – The amount that is debited to the current profit and loss account for expense transaction type items.

  • Cost - item – The amount that is debited to the current profit and loss account for item transactions.

  • Accrued loss – The amount that is debited to the current profit and loss account by the estimate.

  • Value-added – The total amount of revenue minus costs of expenses, items, and accrued costs. Or, gross margin plus hour costs.

  • Cost - hour – The amount that is debited to the current profit and loss account for hour transaction-based items.

  • Gross margin – Revenue minus the total costs.

PL ratio

  • Value-added markup percentage – The value-added amount as a percentage of the revenue based on the parameter definition.

  • Markup percentage – The gross margin percentage based on the parameter definition.

Invoice revenue

  • Invoiced revenue – The amount that is credited to the current profit and loss account for invoiced revenue.

  • Invoiced revenue - on-account – The amount that is credited to the current profit and loss account for on-account invoiced revenue.

  • Total invoiced revenue – The total of amounts for invoiced and on-account invoiced revenue that is credited to the profit and loss accounts.

Accrued revenue

  • Accrued revenue - sales value – The amount that is credited to the accrued revenue sales account.

  • Accrued revenue - production – The amount that is credited to the production accrued revenue account by fixed-price estimates. Applies to fixed-price projects only.

  • Accrued revenue - profit - The amount that is credited to the profit account during accrual if a profit results from the estimates.

  • Accrued revenue - subscription: The amount that is credited to the accrual account for subscription revenue.

  • Accrued revenue - on-account – The amount that is posted to the accrual account for on-account revenue.

  • Total accrued revenue – The total accrued revenue credited to all the profit and loss accounts.

Cost

  • Cost - hour – The amount that is posted to the cost account for hour transactions.

  • Cost - expense – The amount that is posted to the cost account for expense transactions.

  • Cost - item – The amount that is posted to the cost account for item transactions.

  • Accrued loss – The amount that is posted to the loss account during accrual if a loss results from the estimates.

  • Total cost – The total of all cost amounts.

WIP cost price

View the capitalized costs for WIP hours, expenses, and items. Also view accrued losses for WIP and the total WIP cost.

WIP sales price

View the WIP amounts for sales value, production, profit, and subscriptions. Also view the total WIP sales price.

WIP total

The total amount of gross WIP at cost price and WIP at sales price that is posted to a net balance account.

Consumption

The costs that are posted to profit and loss accounts from hourly, expense, or item transactions.

Payroll allocation

The amounts that are credited to the payroll allocation account.

Invoice

The amount that is invoiced and credited to the invoiced accounts.

On-account invoicing

The amount that is invoiced and credited to the invoiced on-account accounts.

Hour - quantity

The total number of hours for the project.

Revenue hour rate

The revenue per hour.

Value-added hour rate

The value added amount per hour.

Cost hour rate

The costs per hour.

Gross margin hour rate

The gross margin per hour.
