Known issue - Issues publishing or importing reports in Pro workspaces

You have a Power BI Pro workspace. You might encounter issues when publishing or importing Power BI report with a .pbix extension into your workspace.

Symptoms

When trying to publish or import a Power BI report, you receive an error. The error is similar to We couldn't import data.

Solutions and workarounds

Here are some workarounds for this issue:

  • Change to a different capacity with small file format
  • Use the REST API to change the default dataset storage mode to small file format for your workspace
