Business value

Robust support for virtual health data tables provides greater flexibility for health data exchange between Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) endpoints and Dataverse without having to duplicate data and pay for additional cloud storage. This would reduce cloud storage costs and enable seamless integration of data residing in external systems.

Feature details

Virtual health data tables are our custom data provider for the Dataverse virtual tables capability and currently provide read-only access to FHIR server data from within Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare.

The release will include support for create, update, and delete operations for virtualized FHIR resources and their related expand tables within Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare. This feature will provide users the ability for real-time writeback of FHIR data to currently supported FHIR server connections.
