Important
Some or all of this functionality is available as part of a preview release. The content and the functionality are subject to change.
Use allocations to visualize how your emissions are generated in multiple methods without impacting the default emissions reporting. With allocations, you can see how your emissions are distributed based on any parameter that you choose.
This article uses the following terms.
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Allocation source | The entity that you want to allocate your data from, either a facility or an organizational unit. |
Allocation destination | The entity that you want to allocate your data to. This is a type of reference data such as an organizational unit. |
Allocation method | Defines the parameters you want to use to allocate your data, including the sources, destinations, and the parameter you want to use to determine how to distribute your data. You define how much of your emissions go from where, to where. |
Allocation profile | A feature in Microsoft Sustainability Manager that lets you define how to allocate your emissions using your allocation method details. |
Add an allocation profile
An allocation profile configures the allocation methods to run against a data set. These allocation methods define how to distribute the emissions from the facility or organizational unit where they're tracked to the desired entity.
The following fields are required on the Allocation profiles page:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Emissions source | Select at least one emission source. |
Start date | Select the date on which you want to start including emissions in your allocation profile. |
End date | Select the date on which you want to stop including emissions in your allocation profile. |
Select Allocation profiles (preview) from the Data area of the left navigation.
Select the filter icon:
Below the And field, select Add to add filters.
Find and select the entity to filter by.
Select selection criteria, such as equals.
Finalize the condition for selection (for example, Facility Equals Contoso Factory).
Add rows for additional filters as you require.
Select Automatically run when data is refreshed, unless the allocation is a one-time allocation. If you select this option, your schedule will match the schedule of the data that is being pulled in by the criteria of your filters.
Continue to the next page by selecting Next.
Profile method: Select at least one profile method. You can add methods to run on the same data you chose in the first page by selecting Add.
Profile period: Select the period that you would like to allocate your data across.
Continue to the next page by selecting Next.
Allocation profile name: Give your profile a name. Be as descriptive as possible.
Description: You are not required to add a description but it can be helpful if you have multiple similar profiles.
Select Done to save your profiles.
On the action pane, select Run allocation to start the allocation job.
