Overview of ESG data estate
The environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data estate capability enables you to centralize your organization’s ESG data from disparate sources into a standardized ESG data model. You can use this ESG data to then perform aggregation and analysis for meeting regulatory requirements, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Disclosures (CSRD) in the EU, and for demonstrating transparency and accountability to stakeholders.
The ESG data estate capability contains the ESG data model, which serves as the data estate or the centralized schema in Sustainability data solutions in Fabric for storing ESG data. The ESG data model is a comprehensive and extensible analytical data model for managing and processing your ESG data for advanced analytics and reporting. The ESG data model includes over 500 tables to store ESG data, across various business areas such as carbon, energy, water, waste, biodiversity, social, and governance.
The ESG data estate capability deploys all of the Sustainability data solutions in Fabric lakehouses, configuration files, and the ESG data model. As a result, it's a dependent capability for all of the other Sustainability data solutions in Fabric capabilities.
With the ESG data estate capability, you can:
- Load demo data tables into the ProcessedESGData lakehouse
- Ingest data to the ESG data model from external sources
