Claims and Disclosures

As Microsoft continues transitioning device testing in-house, some performance claims are based on testing we commissioned from external third parties, while others come directly from testing performed by the Windows Performance Lab. To ensure full transparency, review the disclosures accompanying each claim to verify the source of the data.

Top performing Copilot+ PCs outperform the MacBook Air® M4™ Based on Microsoft-commissioned testing performed by Principled Technologies conducted in May 2024 and September 2024 using Cinebench® 2024 Multi-Core benchmark. Additional testing was conducted by Microsoft in April 2025 on a selection of Copilot+ PCs and MacBook Air® 15' with Apple M4™ 10-core CPU. MacBook Air® M4™ scored 866 in Cinebench® 2024 Multi-core benchmark. Based on local video playback test on a selection of Copilot+ PCs powered by Qualcomm, Intel, and AMD conducted in April 2024 and September 2024 using preproduction devices. Testing consisted of full battery discharge during video playback of a .mov file through the Windows Media Player application in 1080p at 24 FPS.
