LinkedIn Learning SSO Certificate Renewal

LinkedIn Learning and its partners exchange SAML SSO certificates on a predetermined basis so that LinkedIn Learning continues communicating with partner identity providers, such as Okta, Azure AD, and ADFS. To maintain their SAML Single Sign-On connections, partner organizations need to periodically renew their certificates. A new stand-alone SAML certificate may be added to an existing Single Sign-On configuration, or a new version of the identity provider metadata file can be reloaded into the configuration.

What this Document Tells You

The following steps outline the LinkedIn Learning SSO certificate renewal process:

  7. Both certificates are now active for LinkedIn Learning. Note: Do not remove your original certificate when you add the new certificate. This action locks you out and you then must re-submit the new certificate.

Updating Using with a Metadata File

You can also upload and replace your SSO certificate via an identity provider metadata file (XML). To upload your metadata file, take the following steps:

Note

This method immediately removes your old SAML certificate and activates your new certificate, unless both certificates are included in the metadata file.

Uploading a Metadata File

  1. After you log in, if you are not already in the Admin screen, select Go to Admin, then click Me > Authenticate.

  2. In the Configure single sign-on section, under SSO connections, select the "More Options" ("...") icon > "Edit" next to your existing SSO configuration.

  4. Navigate to the downloaded file and click Open. If successful, the LinkedIn Learning fields are populated with the metadata and certificate/s.

  5. Click Save.

Congratulations! Your learners can continue using their Single Sign-On authentication method with LinkedIn Learning.
