Refund policies for Microsoft AppSource and Azure Marketplace

Purchases on Microsoft AppSource or Azure Marketplace might be eligible for a refund. This article introduces our refund policies.

Software as a Service (SaaS) offers

You're eligible for a full refund if you cancel your SaaS subscription within 72 hours from purchase, however, refunds are not issued for metered billing charges. Refunds aren't available for subscriptions canceled after the time period specified. Customers can't cancel after 72 hours from purchase, except for free trials. Customers can cancel a free trial anytime during the trial but once canceled, the customer can't reinitiate the trial. For cancellations and refunds after 72 hours, reach out to the ISV who published the offer to request a cancellation and refund. If the cancellation and refund request is approved by the ISV, the ISV will then submit a ticket to enable the cancellation and refund via the marketplace.

Virtual Machine (VM) offers and Virtual Machine software reservations (VMSR)

You're not eligible for a refund for a usage/consumption-based charge for a deployed Virtual Machine offer. You're eligible for a full refund if you cancel your Virtual Machine software reservation within 72 hours from the time of purchase but the cancellation limits described on the page: Self-service exchanges and refunds for Azure Reservations will still apply. You can't cancel beyond that time. Note that any reservations purchased via a private offer from an ISV can't be canceled at any time. Reach out to the ISV who published the offer to request a cancellation and refund. If the cancellation and refund request has been approved by the ISV, the ISV will then submit a ticket to enable the cancellation and refund via the marketplace.

Azure container offers

You're not eligible for a refund for a usage/consumption-based charge for a deployed Azure Container offer. Refunds aren't available for usage/consumption based offers canceled after the standard 72-hour period. For refunds beyond the standard 72-hour cancellation period, reach out to the ISV who published the offer to request a refund. If the cancellation and refund request has been approved by the ISV, the ISV will then submit a ticket to enable the cancellation and refund via the marketplace.

Azure managed applications

You're eligible for a refund of the fixed monthly charge if you delete your managed application within 72 hours from purchase. Refunds aren't available for managed applications deleted after the 72 hour time period. Refunds aren't issued for variable charges (custom meters). For example, if a managed application offer bills based on the number of emails sent from an email platform. For cancellations and refunds beyond 72-hour from purchase or for variable charges, reach out to the ISV who published the offer to request a refund. If the cancellation and refund request has been approved by the ISV, the ISV will then submit a ticket to enable the cancellation and refund via the marketplace.

Azure developer services

If you reduce the developer services, you're eligible for a partial refund based on the remaining portion of the subscription period. Refunds aren't available when you cancel your subscription.

Refund policies for Azure Reserved Instance (RI) are available at Self-service exchanges and refunds for Azure Reservations.
