Purchases on Microsoft AppSource or Azure Marketplace might be eligible for a refund. This article introduces our refund policies.
Software as a Service (SaaS) offers
You're eligible for a full refund, excluding metered billing charges, if you cancel your SaaS subscription within 72 hours of purchase. Free trials can be canceled at any time during the trial period, but once canceled, they can't be reinitiated. For more information, see Cancel a SaaS subscription.
For refunds after 72 hours, contact the partner who published the offer. If the partner approves your request, they submit a ticket to process the cancellation and refund through the marketplace.
Professional Service offers
You're eligible for a full refund if you cancel your Professional Service subscription within 72 hours from purchase. For cancellations and refunds after 72 hours, reach out to the partner who published the offer to request a cancellation and refund. If the cancellation and refund request is approved by the partner, they submit a ticket to enable the cancellation and refund via the marketplace.
Virtual Machine (VM) offers and Virtual Machine software reservations (VMSR)
You can receive a full refund if you cancel your Virtual Machine software reservation within 72 hours of purchase, subject to the cancellation limits described on the Self-service exchanges and refunds for Azure Reservations page. Cancellations aren't allowed beyond the 72-hour time frame. Additionally, you're not eligible for a refund for usage or consumption-based charges for a deployed Virtual Machine offer.
Note
Reservations purchased via a private offer from a partner can't be canceled at any time. For cancellations and refunds after 72 hours, contact the partner who published the offer. If the partner approves your request, they submit a ticket to process the cancellation and refund through the marketplace.
Azure container offers
You can receive a full refund if you cancel within 72 hours of purchase. However, you're not eligible for a refund for usage or consumption-based charges for a deployed Azure Container offer. Refunds aren't available for usage or consumption-based offers canceled after the standard 72-hour period.
For refunds beyond the 72-hour cancellation period, contact the partner who published the offer. If the partner approves your request, they submit a ticket to process the cancellation and refund through the marketplace.
Azure managed applications
You're eligible for a refund of the fixed monthly charge if you delete your managed application within 72 hours of purchase. Refunds aren't available for managed applications deleted after this 72-hour period. Additionally, refunds aren't issued for variable charges (custom meters), such as billing based on the number of emails sent from an email platform.
For cancellations and refunds beyond the 72-hour period or for variable charges, contact the parter who published the offer. If the partner approves your request, they submit a ticket to process the cancellation and refund through the marketplace.
Azure developer services
If you reduce the developer services, you're eligible for a partial refund based on the remaining portion of the subscription period. Refunds aren't available when you cancel your subscription entirely.
If you transfer or modify your Azure support plan, you may be eligible for a partial refund. The refund amount is based on the remaining portion of the subscription period.
Azure Databricks
If you remove an Azure Databricks asset, you're eligible for a partial refund based on the remaining term units specified. To learn more about Azure Databricks, see Azure Databricks documentation.
Business Application (Dynamics 365 Apps, Power BI Visual) offers
You're eligible for a full refund if you cancel your subscription within seven days of purchase. Refunds aren't available for subscriptions canceled after the seven day time period.
Monetary commitment
If you cancel a monetary consumption commitment that you paid upfront, you're eligible for a partial refund based on the remaining portion of the commitment period.
Note
A monetary commitment can't be used for purchases on Microsoft AppSource or Azure Marketplace.
