Key Features in MDEP2024.3

  • MDEP Configuration API: A centralized way for partner services and components to interact with MDEP. Lets the OEMs manage MDEP features such as device synchronization, pairing, admin session, and read/update of the device settings, without having to worry about the complexity of each system. Provides an abstracted API that covers all required business logic functions for managing the runtime device configuration. Extensible by partners for managing additional functionality. Published via the Microsoft SDK for use by OEMs and third parties.
  • MDEP Public API SDK: Common SDK for all MDEP Services Public APIs – accessible by both MDEP and OEM apps, including 3rd party VaaS providers.
  • App Integrity Service: Continuous monitoring of on-device app integrity to detect and respond to potentially dangerous and fraudulent interactions with a cloud component. Features a reference implementation.
  • SOC Secure Enclave abstraction: Scales HW attestation, zero trust and other security features across all silicon platforms.
  • Disablement of TLS 1.0/1.1: Covers design changes and support plan as a result of TLS v1.0 and TLSv1.1 deprecation.
  • Teams Panels & Room scheduling support: Platform support for scheduling panels as a new device type. Features include schedule, view meetings, LED availability.
  • IP Phones – Partner preview: Preview release with basic functionality available for Teams Phones / IP phones.
  • Enhanced systems app customization: Introduces a customizable common MDEP system theme, including Light Theme mode.
  • Dynamic insertion of Microsoft UI: MDEP service for introducing Microsoft Privacy and other Microsoft UI into OEM's OOBE and Settings experiences
  • Enterprise & Government grade networking - EAP over LAN - Partner preview: Built-in preview support for Extensible Authentication Protocol over LAN, available through the Configuration API and MDEP SDK, in addition to MDEP system apps.
