As your organization's administrator, you need a free Figma account before enabling licenses through Microsoft Entra ID. If you already have a Figma account associated with your organization's domain, you can skip this step.
To create your free Figma account:
- Visit figma.com.
- Select Get started for free.
- Select No account? Create one and set up an account with your district email address.
- Complete the personal information form with the responses that best fit your use case.
- Choose a starter team by selecting Start for free.
- Choose between opening a blank Figma file, FigJam file, or select I'll get started on my own.
- Verify your education status at figma.com/education/apply. If you don't verify your education status, you'll see emails prompting you to upgrade. Disregard these messages.
After you successfully log into Figma, you see a dashboard displaying your existing files. Your district's organization hasn't been created yet, so you don't have access to the admin controls at this point in your setup.
After you set up your free account, the Figma for Education team (education@figma.com) then sets up your organization's Figma account and makes you the administrator.
Note
You cannot proceed to the SAML SSO steps until after your Figma for Education representative has enabled you as your organization's administrator.
