This article provides country or region and city-level detail for Microsoft 365 datacenter locations. Use this information to understand where your Customer Data may be stored based on your Tenant's Geography.

Overview
The Data Location Card in the Microsoft 365 admin center displays simplified Geography names (such as "France" or "European Union/EFTA") due to display space constraints and overall user experience considerations. This page provides the detailed datacenter location information behind those Geography names.
Note
For security and compliance reasons, Microsoft doesn't disclose the exact street addresses of its datacenters. The table below provides detail to the metropolitan/city level to support transparency around Data Residency.

How to use this information
When your Data Location Card displays a Geography name:
For Local Region Geographies (such as "France" or "Japan"): Your Customer Data is stored in datacenters within that specific country or region, in the cities listed in the Local Region Geographies table above.
For Macro Region Geographies (such as "Americas" or "European Union/EFTA"): Your Customer Data is stored in datacenters within that region at one or more of the locations listed in the Macro Region Geographies table above. Where applicable, the table identifies both the country or region and city.
