You can export and import an agent powered by the Customer Conversation harness using solutions, so you can move the agent across environments.
Exporting and importing an agent powered by the Customer Conversation harness uses the same solutions-based procedure as the standard harness. To learn more, see Export and import agents using solutions.
Prerequisites
- You must have at least the System Customizer security role to use this feature. Learn more about configuring user security in an environment.
- You should be familiar with solution concepts, as described in Solution concepts, and Create and manage solutions in Copilot Studio.
Things to know
- You can't export managed solutions.
- Not all agent components and properties are included. For example, some bot properties such as conversation ID, environment ID, and topic-level or node-level comments don't transfer.
- The imported agent might be missing some elements, for example the agent icon and channel details might be empty.
- You must deploy your imported agent before it can be shared.
Create a custom solution and add your agent
- Open the solution explorer in Copilot Studio.
- Create a new solution, or select an existing unmanaged solution.
- Select Add existing > Agent > Agent, select the agent you want to export, and then select Add.
- If your agent uses flows, custom connectors, or environment variables, add those components to the solution as well.
For detailed steps, including how to add components, custom connectors, and environment variables to your solution, see Create a custom solution and add your agent.
Export the solution with your agent
- In the solution explorer, select the unmanaged solution that contains your agent.
- Select Export solution and follow the Power Apps export solutions experience.
For detailed steps, see Export the solution with your agent.
Import the solution with your agent
- In the target environment, open the solution explorer in Copilot Studio.
- Select Import solution and follow the Power Apps import solutions experience.
- After the import finishes, select the imported solution, select Agents, and then select the agent's name to open it in Copilot Studio.
- Configure user authentication for the agent again.
For detailed steps, including how to troubleshoot a failed import, see Import the solution with your agent.
