After you add tools to your agent, you can view, edit, and remove them from the Build tab.
View and edit a tool
On the Build tab, select the primary agent's card to open its configuration panel. If you've added any sub-agents, select a sub-agent's card instead to configure that sub-agent.
In the Tools section, each tool appears as a chip. Prebuilt tools, such as Escalate and Biometric authentication, can show a warning icon if there's a connector policy issue.
Select a tool's chip to open the Edit tool panel.
In the Details section, review or update:
- Name and Description: Help the agent decide when and how to use the tool.
- Tool: The underlying connector action. Read-only.
- Connection: The connection used to authenticate with the service.
- Available to: The agent or agents that can use this tool.
- Additional details: Expand for more information about the tool.
In the Inputs section, review or update the values passed to the tool when it runs. For each input, choose how to Fill using it (for example, Custom value) and provide the Value. Select Add input to add more.
In the Completion section, choose what the agent does After running the tool, such as Send results to primary agent to formulate a response (default). Expand Advanced to control which Outputs available to the agent and other tools, and configure individual outputs.
Select Save to apply your changes.
Remove a tool
Do either of the following:
- On the tool's chip, select the X, then confirm the removal when prompted.
- In the Edit tool panel, select Delete.
Note
Prebuilt tools, such as Escalate and Biometric authentication, don't show an X on their chip and might not be removable the same way as tools you add yourself, such as connector or workflow tools.
