2.1.44 Part 1 Section 17.3.1.12, ind (Paragraph Indentation)

a.   The standard states that character unit indent attributes (endChars, firstLineChars, hangingChars and startChars) specify indents in character units, which will be applied to the paragraph in the order specified by the Style Hierarchy.

During Style Hierarchy application, Word ignores character unit indents with a value of zero along with related character unit indents that are applied earlier in the Style Hierarchy order.

b.   The standard states that character unit indent attributes, endChars, firstLineChars, hangingChars and startChars, specify indents in character units, which will be applied to the paragraph in the order specified by the Style Hierarchy.

During Style Hierarchy application, Word overrides non-character unit indents with related non-zero character unit indents that are applied earlier in the Style Hierarchy order.
