a.   The standard states that start-pos shall be at least 0.

b.   The standard states that SEARCH is intended for use with languages that use the single-byte character set (SBCS), whereas SEARCHB is intended for use with languages that use the double-byte character set (DBCS).

In Office, SEARCH is intended for use with any language, whereas SEARCHB is intended for use with languages that use the double-byte character set (DBCS).
