a.   The standard allows a bookmark to begin inside a math object and end outside that object or vice versa.

Word does not allow a bookmark to begin inside a math object and end outside that object or vice versa.

b.   The standard does not specify a maximum number of bookmarks allowed in a document.

Word fails to open the file if it has too many bookmarks (more than 16380 when the uiCompat97to2003 element is present, more than 2147483647 otherwise).
