2.2.2 Initialization Sequence

The following sections contain Remote Desktop Protocol: Audio Output Virtual Channel Extension message syntax for the initialization sequence. The initialization sequence is used to accomplish the following:

  • Establish the client and server protocol versions and capabilities.

  • Establish a list of audio formats common to both the client and the server. All audio data is transmitted in a format specified by this list.

  • Determine whether UDP can be used to transmit audio data.
