3.2.3 Initialization

Initialization of the session state occurs when a Describe or SelectStream request is received and the request does not specify the Session header (as specified in [RFC2326] section 12.37).

The variables defined by the abstract data model MUST initially assume their default values. Variables that do not have a default defined MUST be initialized as follows:

The State variable MUST be set to INIT. The server SHOULD confirm its role as specified in section 3.2.7.3.
