Warning

Gold and Silver competencies are deprecated as of September 30, 2022. This article will be removed on October 31, 2022.

This article answers general questions about exams, certifications, and software benefits related to attaining a Microsoft Partner Network competency.

Where can I find the list of exams and Microsoft certifications being retired?

When can I renew my membership?

Existing membership can be renewed any day after the start of your renewal window. Your renewal window begins on the anniversary of your purchase date plus one day. For example, if you purchased the Microsoft Action Pack on September 1, 2018, your renewal window begins on September 2, 2019.

How can I verify the exams and certifications taken by my organization’s users?

During the process of attaining a competency, the global admin or MPN partner admin can analyze which users have completed an exam, certification, or assessment. The admin can also check progress against a competency’s requirements.

They can do so from Partner Center, as follows:

  1. Sign in to the Partner Center dashboard.

  2. Select MPN followed by Competencies.

  3. Toward the top of the Competencies page, locate and select the Download skills report option.

Other reports on your organization’s skills are also available from the Partner Center Insights area in Partner Center. To view these reports, you may need to be assigned an Insights-specific role of Report Viewer or Executive Report Viewer. You may need to ask your MPN partner admin to give you access to one of these roles.

View the Insights reports as follows:

  1. Sign in to the Partner Center dashboard.

  2. Select Insights from the Partner Center menu, followed by Organization skills. A smaller menu appears.

  3. Select either Training or Microsoft Learn from the menu.

    • Select Training to see a summary of your organization’s certifications, assessments, and exams over a specific timeframe. For more information about this report, see Training.

    • Select Microsoft Learn to see a summary of your organization’s completed modules and learning paths over a specific timeframe. For more information about this report, see Microsoft Learn analytics report.

How long does it take to see the latest user assessments in the Partner Center User Skills Report?

The Partner university account will be associated to the Partner Center user account. The user’s assessments will appear in the Partner Center User Skills Report within 72 hours.

Only the skills relevant to the competencies and programs in Partner Center will appear in this report. (Some retired skills may also appear for 12 months or more after they are retired).

Be sure to check the requirements for specific competencies. To check, use either the Competencies menu option in the Partner Center dashboard or the Microsoft Partner Network competencies page.

Note

Unless an exam, assessment, or certification is specifically mentioned as a requirement under a particular competency, it will not be considered towards meeting that competency.

What are the software benefits (such as, license use rights) that I am entitled to when I achieve a gold or silver competency or buy a Microsoft Action Pack?

See the following resources:

  • Download license tables for competency partners.

  • Download the license table for Microsoft Action Pack partners.

Why can’t I see the performance data reflected under the competencies KPIs report?

Check the requirements under the desired competency in the Partner Center dashboard or the Microsoft Partner Network competencies page. Doing so will help you understand the requirements to attain each competency (such as, Partner association type, Offer type, TTM).

Note

Unless the partner association type is specifically mentioned as a requirement for a certain competency, it will not be recognized towards meeting the performance goals.

Only data for the past 12 months will be considered for the computation of performance, skill, or other requirements related to a competency. To learn more about performance calculations for competencies like the Cloud Business Applications competency, see Partner Contribution Indicators.
