The Visual Studio Code (VS Code) extension for portals adds the capability to configure portals using VS Code. The extension utilizes the built-in Liquid language IntelliSense that helps with code completion, assistance, and hinting while customizing portals interfaces using VS Code.

This feature provides the following capabilities during this public preview:

  • Power Apps CLI support from VS Code terminal: Installing this extension will also make the latest Microsoft Power Platform CLI available in your VS Code terminal. Developers can directly use the commands for portals (paportal) to upload and download the changes to a portal directly from within the VS Code terminal.
  • File icon theme for portals: When selected, the portals icons theme automatically identifies and shows the icons for files and folders making the portals development experience easier.
  • Support for autocomplete: The VS Code extension understands portals syntax and supports autocomplete.
