Feature details

We’re excited to announce that from May 19th, Power Automate Desktop will inform users if there is a new version available for download through in-product notifications. The update check happens automatically when Power Automate Desktop’s console is launched and in regular intervals after that. An update can be snoozed for a specific period of time or skipped completely. If the update is skipped, no new notifications will be shown for the current update version.

We’ve also included some new settings in the console’s general settings pane where users can opt-in or opt-out of update notifications. If the update notifications are turned off, then no new notifications will be shown in the future until they are turned on again. We’ve also added the ability to manually check for updates, if needed, by adding a button to the same settings section.

Lastly, we’ve added some governance support to help organizations regulate how Power Automate Desktop gets updated. If there is a need for controlling the current Power Automate Desktop version across the organization, admins can leverage a GPO to disable the update notifications as well as the ability for users to check for updates manually from within Power Automate Desktop’s settings.
