Business value

Makers can enable an existing portal as a Progressive Web App (PWA) to allow for a better native app-like experience for internal and external portal users. Additionally, makers will be able to increase the mobile outreach for portals by creating mobile application packages across app stores.

Feature details

This feature will allow portal makers to enable their existing portals as Progressive Web Apps with the following capabilities:

  • Makers can enable their portal as branded white label PWAs and users can pin portals as PWAs from their browser across different platforms.

  • Makers can customize a generic offline page for the app to allow graceful handling of PWAs if users are offline.

  • Portal makers can choose which pages can be cached in order to be accessible to users even if they're offline.

  • For the portals which are enabled as PWAs, makers can go one step further and create mobile app packages for different app stores. Makers can use these packages to publish directly to different app stores.
