Business value

This feature is designed for BI teams who use deployment pipelines to manage their content. To properly govern changes, BI teams need the ability to easily track their changes across time. The new deployment history feature tracks changes that have been deployed to the test and production stages and makes it easier for teams to collaborate and quickly find bugs and bug root causes.

Feature details

For the BI creator who deploys content in the pipeline, this new feature adds the ability to:

  • See a summary of the changes you're about to make before the deployment process starts.
  • Add comments to a deployment that explain or describe the content and changes that are being deployed.

For other BI creators with access to that pipeline, this new feature adds:

  • An activity log for deployment history within each pipeline.

  • Deployment history that includes:

    • The stage the deployment was deployed to.
    • Who made the deployment.
    • Deployment time.
    • Status of deployment (completed or failed).
    • List of deployed artifacts that are new or have been changed.
    • Deployer comments that were added as part of the deployment.
