Business value

Synapse Link for Dataverse is an integrated experience in Power Platform that provides integration between your data from Dynamics 365 and Power Apps with Azure data tools. Now, Synapse Link for Dataverse provides direct integration with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. With a few clicks, you can choose data and launch Microsoft Fabric. There is no data copy or ETL schedules to manage. The system does all the work for configuration and data movement. The system also generates an Azure Synapse lakehouse with your data as well as a SQL endpoint and a default Power BI dataset saving you hours and days of work.

Feature details

Synapse Link for Dataverse is the single, integrated experience in Microsoft Dataverse that connects Dynamics 365 and Power Apps data with Azure Synapse. Now, Synapse Link for Dataverse gets even better, enabling customers to save money on data integration costs. With a simple gesture, makers and data engineers can directly link their Dynamics 365 data in Dataverse with Microsoft Fabric.

Makers can launch Microsoft Fabric directly from the PowerApps maker experience. Dataverse links data securely to Microsoft Fabric with a few clicks, without the need to copy data, manage configurations or re-establish security. Citizen Data analysts can use Microsoft Fabric to work with Dataverse data by exploring with Power BI and finding insights with help from AI driven Copilots.

Data engineers can launch Microsoft Fabric using Synapse Link and work with data using Python or Spark notebooks. They can leverage AI driven Copilots built into Microsoft Fabric and get help in crafting complex calculations. Database administrators and Data analysts can work with Dynamics 365 data using SQL to write queries as well as create stored procedures and views. No need to bring a credit card or to provision your own Azure storage account. Your data never leaves Dataverse boundary and there is no data copy.

Dataverse generates shortcuts to Microsoft Fabric, generates a Synapse Lakehouse and a SQL endpoint (a data warehouse) for your data enabling next generation Power BI capabilities. Direct integration between Dataverse and Microsoft Fabric eliminates the need to build and maintain custom ETL pipelines or use third party data integration tools.

With auto-generated Synapse Lakehouse, SQL endpoint and Power BI Lake direct datasets, you can create highly performant reports within minutes. No need to create data pipelines and run complex operations. As data gets updated in Dynamics 365, changes are reflected in Power BI reports automatically. You can easily combine Data from Dynamics and Power apps with your own data in Microsoft Fabric. Direct integration between Dataverse and Microsoft Fabric saves you days and weeks of effort.

Makers can act on the insights by extending their business processes or by building low code Apps in Power Automate, Power Pages, and PowerApps with the help of over 800 connectors to business apps. Insights discovered in Microsoft Fabric appear as native Dataverse tables, making it easy for makers to add insights into Power Apps and Power Pages. They can repeat their success by deploying apps and smart actions across environments and geographies while governing and monitoring usage. These are the same robust tools and processes adopted by Dynamics enterprise customers.
