Business value

We're enabling the ISVs and developer to leverage these features:

  • Enable existing or new connectors as plug-ins.
  • Certifying the connectors and connector-based plugins to be available for end users.

To position Microsoft connectors and copilot plug-ins at a competitive advantage, a quicker go-to-market timeline is required. The reduction of submission timeline by 99% (2.5 days to 20 minutes) and certification timeline by 95% (from 40 days – 48 hours) is targeted for Microsoft Build 2024 with the following efforts:

  • Empowering publishers to conduct robust testing before submitting artifacts to Microsoft.
  • Introduction of Partner Center as the platform to submit connectors and copilot plug-ins for certification.
  • Enabling competitive Microsoft Partner managed services throughout the certification lifecycle.

Feature details

Offering a streamlined experience for ISVs to submit connectors and connector-based plug-ins to Microsoft for certification and publish thereafter. This will also enable ISVs to download the connector plug-ins built in Microsoft Copilot Studio to be downloaded as a package, which can then be submitted using the Partner Center for certification.

The existing certification experience is siloed for connector creation, submission, and certification. With the extension of Power Platform into supplying plug-ins for Dynamics 365 and Copilot for Microsoft 365 experiences, this certification experience isn't scalable. Thus, to position Microsoft connectors and copilot plug-ins at a competitive advantage, a standard and quicker go-to-market approach is required. Starting Build 2024, new Power Platform connectors and plug-ins will be submitted for certification through Partner Center under Microsoft 365 and the copilot program.
