Business value
Designing automations becomes significantly easier when users can visualize the full structure of a desktop flow. The flow‑chart view helps makers better understand branching, sub-flows, decision points, and execution paths, enabling faster onboarding and reducing flow‑building errors. With a clearer representation of logic, teams can collaborate more effectively, troubleshoot issues faster, and confidently scale their automation estate.
Feature details
The new flow‑chart view provides a modern, highly visual design surface inside Power Automate for desktop. Instead of working only in the traditional linear action list, makers can now switch to a node‑based view where each action appears as a connected element within a full flow diagram. This enables users to:
- See actions as connected nodes, making complex logic, branching, and dependencies immediately visible.
- Switch seamlessly between the linear and flow‑chart views, preserving full editing capability in both modes.
- Rearrange actions visually by dragging nodes, letting users restructure logic without scrolling through long linear flows.
- Improve readability of large automations, especially for multi‑branch, nested, or advanced RPA patterns.
- Accelerate troubleshooting by seeing execution paths and action relationships at a glance.
