Power Automate for desktop - Build 2512

This article describes the new features, improvements and fixes to existing functionality that are included in this build.

Enhancements & Improvements

  • Flow checker rules now support PowerFx expressions and can detect PowerFx’s case‐sensitive variable handling.

  • In the subflows list, local subflows are now labeled with the ‘Local’ text string.

  • Performance has now been improved when retracting multiple Java elements.

Repaired Functionality

The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:

  • Issues related to ScriptRunNotFound errors have now been resolved.

  • The ‘On block error’ action now properly shows whether it has error handling configured, through the respective icon in the designer.

  • A fallback caching mechanism has been added for retrieving environment data, when the corresponding API calls fail.

  • The error details expander is now hidden in error dialogs, when no error details are available.

  • The Flow checker rule for input variable default values is no longer violated for instance and session variables, which don’t support default values.

  • Editing a newly created desktop flow in the portal no longer throws an error in the console, even if the flows list has not been refreshed.

  • When dynamic data for connector actions fail to be loaded because of a DLP exception, the appropriate error message is now displayed to the user.

  • The list variable icon is now properly displayed in the actions pane.

  • Connectors retry logic has now been enhanced to better handle transient HTTP errors.

  • When a flow is created or edited and the setting to preload the designer is enabled, the flow designer now properly comes to the foreground after being launched.

  • Some scenarios where the flow status appears as ‘Currently editing’ in the console, even after the designer has been closed, have now been resolved.

  • The Debug toolbar option to ‘Enable picture-in-picture mode’ in the flow designer is no longer disabled by default.

  • Optional Boolean parameters in connector actions are now properly handled during editing.

  • When editing an existing action with a produced global variable within a local subflow, the ‘global.’ prefix keyword is now properly shown as expected.

  • Users with free Microsoft accounts can now properly run flows through desktop shortcuts as expected, without getting an error.

  • Using certain characters like ‘$’ in JSON actions no longer blocks the variable viewer window from opening during debugging.

  • Some previously unhandled exceptions in work queue actions are now properly handled.

  • An issue with the ‘Get details of web page’ action returning a null output has now been resolved.

  • An issue with the ‘Extract text with OCR’ action not working properly, when the Tesseract engine is selected, has now been resolved.

  • Trying to run a parent flow with a child flow that call each other now throws the expected recursion error.

  • An error occurring when using the ‘global.’ prefix keyword within local subflows, in nested control flow structures like loops, conditionals, and switches, has now been resolved.
