Syntax
Get-IpamDnsZone
[-ZoneType] <ZoneType[]>
[[-ZoneName] <String[]>]
[-CimSession <CimSession[]>]
[-ThrottleLimit <Int32>]

[<CommonParameters>]
Description
The Get-IpamDnsZone cmdlet gets information about all the Domain Name System (DNS) zones in the IPAM (IP Address Management) server database. A DNS zone is a distinct section of the domain name system for an organization. For instance, the DNS zone northamerica.contoso.com would maintain DNS records for contoso.com's northamerica subdomain. Likewise, the DNS zone southamerica.contoso.com would maintain DNS records for contoso.com's southamerica subdomain.
Examples
Example 1: Get information about all forward zones
PS C:\> Get-IpamDnsZone -ZoneType "Forward"
This command returns information about all the forward zones in the IPAM database.
Example 2: Get information about the forward zones in a specific DNS zone
PS C:\> Get-IpamDnsZone -ZoneType "Forward" -ZoneName "northamerica.contoso.com"
This command returns information for the DNS zone named northamerica.contoso.com.
Parameters
-AsJob
Runs the cmdlet as a background job. Use this parameter to run commands that take a long time to complete.
The cmdlet immediately returns an object that represents the job and then displays the command prompt.
You can continue to work in the session while the job completes.
To manage the job, use the *-Job
cmdlets.
To get the job results, use the Receive-Job cmdlet.
For more information about Windows PowerShell background jobs, see about_Jobs.
