Creating a Default Registry Value in the Registry Editor

The Registry Editor can be used to specify a default value for any registry key. Each key can have only one default value; marking more than one value as default will cause a build error.

To specify a default value

  1. Select a value name in the value pane of the Registry Editor.

  2. On the File menu, click Rename.

The name field is now in edit mode, and the value name is highlighted.

  3. On the Edit menu, click Delete.

  4. Press the ENTER key. The value is replaced with "(Default)".
