Accessibility Options
Visual Studio contains features that make it easier for people who have low vision to read and for people who have limited dexterity to write.
To change the size of text
- Select Options on the Tools menu.
- Choose Fonts and Colors on the Environment folder.
- Select an option on the Show settings for drop down menu.
- Select a Font.
- On the Size drop down menu, select a new value.
- Choose OK.
To change the color of items in the integrated development environment (IDE)
- Select Options on the Tools menu.
- Choose Fonts and Colors from the Environment folder.
- From Display items, select an item whose display you need to change.
- Select display settings from the following controls: Item foreground, Item background and Bold.
- Choose OK.
To automate the entry of text and graphics
- Select Options on the Tools menu.
- Choose General on the Environment folder.
- Select Enable autocompletion.
- Choose OK.
To improve toolbar usability and accessibility, you can enlarge or add text to toolbar buttons.
To display Large icons on toolbars
- Choose Customize Toolbars on the Tools menu.
- In the Customize dialog box, select the Options tab.
- Under Other, select the Large icons option.
To assign text to toolbar buttons
Choose Customize Toolbars on the Tools menu.
In the Customize dialog box, select the Toolbars tab.
Select and enable the toolbar containing the button image you want to change.
Leaving the Customize dialog box open, click on the button you want to change.
A black square or rectangle indicates that the button is selected for modification.
Select the Commands tab.
Choose Modify Selection.
Choose Image and Text.
To modify the button's displayed text
- Re-select Modify Selection.
- Adjacent to Name, insert a new caption for the selected button.
