This error occurs when you try to add a file to Team Foundation source control from the Visual Studio client without first creating a team project.
To correct this error
Create a team project. For more information, see How to: Create a Team Project.
Map the team project to a local workspace. For more information, see How to: Create a Workspace.
Create a Visual Studio file in the local workspace. To add the file to Team Foundation source control, right-click the file in Solution Explorer and then click Add to Source Control.
