Troubleshooting SSL Connections
Server ActiveSync and Pocket Internet Explorer implement secure sockets layer (SSL) to secure data transmission when you connect to a server to synchronize Microsoft Exchange data, configure the Windows Mobile Smartphone, Windows Mobile Pocket PC, or download applications. The SSL connection may fail for Server ActiveSync or Pocket Internet Explorer for one of the following reasons:
- The root certificate store does not contain a matching root certificate for the server certificate that the device receives to authenticate the server. You can add a matching root certificate to the store to correct the problem.
- Date and time on the mobile device are incorrect. You can change the date and time using the system settings on the Windows Mobile device.
