Smartphone 2002 Application Security Run Mode Table (SP Only)

The following table shows the application run modes for the three supported security configurations on Smartphone 2002.

UNRESTRICTED 1 One-tier Application runs Privileged with full access to the device. Application runs Privileged with full access to the device. Application runs Privileged with full access to the device.

Root certificates are required in the Privileged Execution Trust Authorities store for the following:

  • To run in the RESTRICTED and STANDARD security configurations, applications signed as Privileged must chain to an M2M Privileged Root Certificate or a mobile operator generated Privileged root certificate in the Privileged Execution Trust Authorities store.
  • To run in the RESTRICTED security configuration, applications signed as Unprivileged must chain to an M2M Unprivileged Root Certificate or a mobile operator generated unprivileged root certificate in the Unprivileged Execution Trust Authorities store.
