Certificates

Certificates provide a means to authenticate applications, users, mobile operators, and servers. Certificates can be added to certificate stores, and the list of supported certification authorities can be modified.

Although certificates are managed on Microsoft® Windows® Mobile-based Pocket PC, the Pocket PC does no certificate checking for installation or execution of applications. It manages certificates through certificate stores and the CertificateStore Configuration Service Provider . The CertificateStore Configuration Service Provider manages X.509 certificates on mobile devices.
