This command returns the last modification date of a file or directory.

Syntax

filelastmodified [filesys path]

Parameters

  • filesys path
    Fully qualified path to the file or directory of interest.

Example Code

The following example shows how you can use this command.

set file "control panel.lnk"
echo "'%file%' last modified on `filelastmodified "%file%"`"

Remarks

This command outputs a date string representing the date and time at which the named file or directory was last modified.

This command is typically used within backticks to perform command substitution.
