Applications that provider pop-up notifications should monitor flags about message duration and adjust their notification length. Applications use the SPI_GETMOUSEHOVERTIME and SPI_SETMOUSEHOVERTIME flags with the <MSHelp:link keywords="_win32_systemparametersinfo" TABINDEX="0"><B>SystemParametersInfo</B></MSHelp:link> function to determine when tooltips should display messages.

This helps users with cognitive disabilities, such as dyslexia, who need extra time to read text in pop-up messages.
