To download the Service Bus for Windows Server Best Practice Analyzer, see Best Practice Analyzer.

Rule: Service Bus Server Installed

Problem: Service Bus for Windows Server 1.0 is not installed.

Impact: Service Bus for Windows Server is not available.

Resolution: Install and configure Service Bus for Windows Server 1.0.

Rule: CPU clock speed should be at least 1.6GHz

Problem: The CPU clock speed of the machine is less than 1.6GHz.

Impact: The CPU clock speed is not sufficient to achieve acceptable performance.

Resolution: Install the Service Bus for Windows Server on a system that has a CPU clock speed of at least 1.6GHz.

Rule: CPU Core Count

Problem: The CPU of the machine has only one core.

Impact: The number of CPU cores is not sufficient to achieve acceptable performance.

Resolution: Install the Service Bus for Windows Server on a system that is equipped with a dual-core processor or better.

Rule: Physical Memory Minimum

Problem: The total physical memory of the machine is less than 3.5 GB.

Impact: the Service Bus for Windows Server will not work on a system that has less than 3.5 GB RAM.

Resolution: Install the Service Bus for Windows Server on a system that has at least 3.5GB RAM. The recommended system memory is 6 GB.

Problem: The total physical memory of the machine is less than 6 GB.

Impact: The available memory is not sufficient to achieve acceptable performance.

Resolution: Install the Service Bus for Windows Server on a system that has at least 6GB RAM.

Rule: Node Configuration Node Count

Problem: There are fewer than two active nodes in the Service Bus for Windows Server farm.

Impact: The Service Bus for Windows Server requires at least three nodes to ensure high availability.

Resolution: Increase the number of nodes of the Service Bus for Windows Server farm to three.

Rule: Message Container Count

Problem: The number of message containers is less than the number of nodes in the Service Bus for Windows Serverfarm.

Impact: Not all nodes in the system are utilized if the number of message containers is less than the number of nodes in the farm.

Resolution: Add new message containers to the Service Bus for Windows Server farm using the New-SBMessageContainer command. To use all nodes, there should be at least one message container per node.

Rule: Remote SQL

Problem: A Service Bus for Windows Server database resides on one of the nodes in the farm.

Impact: The Service Bus for Windows Server cannot provide high availability. If the farm node that hosts the database fails, some or all Service Bus for Windows Server entities become unavailable.

Resolution: Host the databases on a SQL Server that does not run on one of the nodes in the farm.
