Create a shielded virtual machine
You can create a shielded virtual machine in three different ways:
Create a shielded virtual machine by using Quick Create
Sign in to the Windows Azure Stack portal as a tenant.
Click New > Standalone Virtual Machine > Quick Create.
Type a name for the virtual machine.
In the Templates list, choose the shielded virtual machine.
In the Shielding Data list, choose the data you want to use to create the virtual machine.
Click Create VM Instance.
Create a shielded virtual machine by using a shielded template
Sign in to the Windows Azure Stack portal as a tenant.
Click New > Standalone Virtual Machine > From gallery.
Choose a shielded template (indicated by a shield icon), and then click the next arrow.
Type a name for the virtual machine.
In the Shielding Data list, choose the data you want to use to create the virtual machine, then click the next arrow.
If you want the virtual machine to connect a network, choose it here, and then click OK to create the virtual machine.
Create a shielded virtual machine by using a regular template
Sign in to the Windows Azure Stack portal as a tenant.
Click New > Standalone Virtual Machine > From gallery.
Choose a Generation 2 virtual machine template that is not a shielded template (without a shield icon), and then click the next arrow.
Complete the required fields.
Check the Shield the virtual machine box.
In the Shielding Data list, choose the data you want to use to create the virtual machine, then click the next arrow.
If you want the virtual machine to connect a network, choose it here, and then click OK to create the virtual machine.
