Enabling a Client Computer to Execute Jobs

The Machines pane of the Job Monitor window displays the status of client computers in a machine pool. You can also change the status of a client computer from the Machines pane.

You can put a client computer into one of four states:

  1. Manual:  Jobs will not be executed on this client computer unless you schedule them manually.

  2. Debug:  A job that specifies “FailStopFreeze” executed on this computer and failed, or DTM encountered a problem with the computer.

  3. Reset:  DTM is trying to restore the computer to its original state.

Note  When DTM has restored the computer to its original state, the computer’s state is changed from Reset, to Ready.

  4. Unsafe:  The DTM client has been uninstalled from the computer.

DTM can also put the client computer into these or other states as the result of executing a job. See Monitoring Client Computer Status for more information about the states that a client computer can be in.

To indicate that a client computer is available to execute jobs

  1. Switch to the Job Monitor window.
You can also open a new Job Monitor window by clicking Explorers, and then clicking Job Monitor.
  2. In the Machine Pool tab of the Job Monitor window, select the machine pool that contains the computer.
A list of computers in the machine pool appears in the Machines pane.
  3. In the Machines pane, right-click the computer that you want to be able to execute jobs, select Change Status, and then select Reset.
