To export a wildcard certificate to a file
In Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, on the Directory Security tab of the Default Web Site Properties dialog box, click the Server Certificate button.
On the Welcome to the Web Server Certificate Wizard page, click Next.
On the Modify the Current Certificate Assignment page, select Export the current certificate to a .pfx file, and then click Next.
On the Export Certificate page, use the default location in the Path and file name text box, and then click Next.
On the Certificate Password page, enter a password to protect the private key in the Password text box, and then confirm the password in the Confirm password text box.
Review the settings on the Export Certificate Summary page, and then click Next.
On the Completing the Web Server Certificate Wizard page, click Finish.
On the Default Web Site Properties dialog box, click OK.
Note
- In this procedure, the certificate is exported to a file with its private key.
- After you successfully complete this procedure, the next task is to import the wildcard certificate to the Forefront TMG computer. For instructions, see Importing a wildcard certificate into the Personal store for the local computer.
