About Dynamic and Static Reports

You use Analysis to run reports on the user and site data stored in your Data Warehouse, and you use the results of those reports to perform business analytics to discover more about how customers and potential customers use your Web site. For example, you can run reports that show you the characteristics and past behavior of your users, and then update your site to target advertisements or products to users that match a specific profile.

In the Analysis Reports module, you can also run multicurrency reports for sites that can be based on several different currencies. For example, your sites might have transactions that occur in several currencies. When you run reports, you determine if you want the report to run for one specific site or for all sites.

Before you can run any reports, your system administrator must import your site data into your Data Warehouse. This data comes from Web log files, Commerce Server databases, and other data sources. After the data is imported, you can analyze it by running reports from Business Desk. Your system administrator uses the Commerce Server Data Transformation Services (DTS) tasks to import the data. For more information, see Before You Analyze Commerce Server Data.

For more information about using scripted DTS tasks, see Scripting DTS Tasks. For more information about running DTS tasks, see Running the Data Warehouse.
