About Business Desk Security

Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 introduces highly specific user-level and application-level security for Commerce Server Business Desk. You can use the security features in Business Desk to grant or deny permissions to access any of your profiles, catalogs, catalog categories, and properties. Moreover, you can secure your Business Desk categories and modules, and restrict tasks associated with each module.

Business Desk uses Windows accounts to authenticate users. A system administrator creates Windows user or group accounts from any Windows server. After the Windows user or group accounts are created, you can use the Business Desk Permissions module to grant or deny permissions to a group or user.
