Validating Profile Definitions
You use the Profiles resource to verify that the data members you use to map profile definitions with are valid. Validating profile definitions ensures that the data collected with them on your Web site will be stored in existing database columns (or LDAP attributes).
Note
- The validation routines attempt to write and then read back data for each property in the profile definition. The validation routines are not affected by constraints that may exist in the underlying data store. Therefore, these routines may attempt to write data that violates a constraint. In that case, you will receive a validation warning. You should carefully examine the warning descriptions to determine the validity of the profile.
