Previewing the Discount Display

After you define the discount display, you can preview the display before you publish it on your Web site. The preview displays the ad in the Discount Display section in Business Desk. You can also preview the Web page that appears when the user clicks on the discount if the discount is clickable.

Notes

• You cannot display the actual discount that is applied to the basket in Business Desk. The actual discount can only be seen on the Web site. For discount examples, and the results that appear in the user basket, see Discount Examples.
• If your Business Desk is based on the SupplierActiveDirectory Solution Site and AuthFilter is enabled, the authentication code will not allow you to view an image file. To preview an image file in Business Desk, you must enable anonymous access to any image file that is stored in the Business Desk virtual root folder. For information about enabling anonymous access, see “Enabling AuthFilter for the Supplier Solution Site” in Commerce Server 2002 Help.

To preview the discount

1. In Campaigns, click Campaign Manager.
2. In the Campaign Manager screen, select the discount for which you want to preview the discount campaign display, and then click on the toolbar.
3. In the Campaign Manager <Customer> <Campaign> <Campaign Discount Item> (discount ID: <number>) screen, in the Discount Display section, click Preview.
4. In the Preview dialog box, click Yes to save the discount.

A copy of your discount appears in the display area below the Preview button.

The Web page associated with the discount appears in a new Internet Explorer window.

To display the Web page for the discount

1. In Campaigns, click Campaign Manager.
2. In the Campaign Manager screen, select the discount that contains the image you want to preview, and then click on the toolbar.
3. In the Campaign Manager <Customer> <Campaign> <Campaign item> (discount ID: <number>) screen, in the Discount Display section, verify the information is entered in the required fields, and then click the discount in the display area below the Preview button.

The Web page associated with the discount appears in a new Internet Explorer window.

Important

• Any changes made to your discount must be published into production before they will appear on the Web site. For information about publishing changes to your Web site, see Publishing Campaign Changes on Your Web Site.
