Securing the Data Warehouse
This section describes the objects and data that you need to secure for the Data Warehouse, and provides detailed instructions explaining how to secure these objects and data.
It is strongly recommended that you use Windows Authentication for access to your databases. When you configure your database connection strings for Windows Authentication, you must assign Commerce Server Business Desk users and system administrators the appropriate access to your Data Warehouse databases.
Commerce Server includes seven scripts (ReportViewer.sql, ReportAdvanced.sql, and five scripts for the DTS tasks) that create SQL Server database roles and assign the appropriate database permissions to each role. After you run these scripts, you can assign the SQL Server logins for Business Desk users and system administrators to the appropriate roles.
