How to Add a Destination to an IIS Metabase Project

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

This topic provides instructions about how to add a destination to an IIS metabase project by using Commerce Server Staging (CSS) Microsoft Management Console (MMC). You add a destination if you want to stage the IIS metabase to one or more endpoint servers.

To add a destination to an IIS metabase project

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 , and the click Commerce Server Staging.

  2. In the CSS MMC, in the left pane, expand Commerce Server Staging, expand <server name>, and then click Projects.

  3. In the right pane, right-click the IIS metabase project to which you want to add a destination, and then click Properties.

  4. In the Project Properties dialog box, on the Project tab, in the Destinations section, click Add.

Select this option to stage the IIS metabase to a remote server. Specify the name of the remote server, and a destination directory on the remote server. You can also enter the credentials for an authentication account on the remote server. If you do not specify an account, Commerce Server uses the default account.

If you specify an account, either it must belong to the CSS Operators or CSS Administrators group, or it must have project-level access on the destination server. For more information, see How to Add and Remove Users as Project-Level Administrators or Operators.

  6. In the Add Project Destination dialog box, click OK.

  7. In the Project Properties dialog box, click OK.
