You can enable or disable network isolation when you do the following tasks:

  • Create a stored environment from virtual machines or templates.

  • Edit a stored environment.

Note

After an active environment is created, you cannot enable or disable the network isolation capability of that environment.

To enable network isolation while you create an active or a stored environment

  1. Open Lab Center.

  2. To create a stored environment, click the Library tab, click the Environments sub-tab, and then click New.

  3. To create an active environment, click the Lab tab, click New, and then click New virtual environment :

  4. On the Capabilities wizard page, select Enable network isolation for this environment.

  6. If your environment is comprised of workgroup-based computers, click None, indicating that there is no domain controller.

  7. If your environment has domain-joined computers, the domain controller has to be a virtual machine within the environment. In this case, click the virtual machine that plays the role of domain controller.

  8. Complete the rest of the steps in the wizard as described in How to: Create an Environment from Virtual Machines, and then click Finish.
