EnableMSCHAPv2 Property of the IFPCVpnNetworkL2tpPptpSettings Interface

The EnableMSCHAPv2 property gets or sets a Boolean value that indicates whether the Microsoft Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol version 2 (MS-CHAP v2) can be used for outgoing authentication.

Parameters

  • fEnableMSCHAPv2
    Boolean value that specifies whether MS-CHAP v2 can be used for outgoing authentication.

  • pfEnableMSCHAPv2
    Pointer to a Boolean variable that is set on return to VARIANT_TRUE if MS-CHAP v2 can be used for outgoing authentication, or to VARIANT_FALSE if MS-CHAP v2 cannot be used for outgoing authentication.

Return Value

These property methods return S_OK if the call is successful; otherwise, they return an error code.

Remarks

This property is read/write. Its default value is True (VARIANT_TRUE in C++).

All 32-bit Microsoft VPN clients support MS-CHAP v2.

The Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP)cannot be enabled together with MS-CHAP v2, but any combination of the other authentication protocols can be enabled together with MS-CHAP v2.
